Meetings
Church services can be held any day of the week depending on planting and harvesting commitments as most attending are those living on the land. Such gatherings are a great meeting point where people come togther for singing, praying, worshipping and Bible study. People often walk for up to 25km and services often run for three hours. This time together is normally followed by a meal before the people begin the walk back home. | |
| | Visitors take a part in church services to encourage the people. Such visitors are warmly welcomed by the rural Zimbabwean people as it tangible evidence that there are people outside of Zimbabwe, perhaps even on the opposite side of the world, who care for them. It also gives the Zimbabwean people the opportunity to show their fears and concerns as well as thanking them for the support they have received. |
As a christian organisation, church services are sometimes used as a community forum attending to needs that directly affect the local community. These include food relief, blanket distribution and the provision of clean drinking water.
