Microfinance

One aspect of Microfinance is the provision of loan finance, so that the rural people can establish a small business then repay the loan plus interest. Most rural people lack the necessary equity required to establish a business and even the home they occupy is on communally owned land. In the absence of microfinance, those people are exposed to the exhorbitant demands of loan sharks and are likely to find themselves in financial bondage for many years.

A NZ$250 loan is common.

Most rural people have good ideas for business and the will to make their project a success. Microfinance is an empowerment tool that enables the people to work towards a sustainable livelihood without continual reliance on "hand outs". It is pleasing to witness families transformed through greater financial freedom resulting from this initiative. Donate now and help a family establish a small business by clicking here.
